Meander Mindset: Bayou Teche | Printed Book

Meander Mindset: Bayou Teche emerged from a collaboration between environmental sculptor Marla Kristicevich and photographer Kristie Cornell. Together, they traversed the length of South Louisiana's Bayou Teche, gathering organic samples, capturing photographs, making textural rubbings, recording audio, and creating sculptures along the waterway. These collected materials and sculptures form a visual narrative of their journey, which was shared through three gallery exhibitions and a published book. The artists hope to encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world, urging them to pause, observe, create, and deeply appreciate their surroundings.

This project was funded in part through ArtSpark, a grant program made possible by Lafayette Economic Development Authority and administered by the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
